A new set of five denominations of postage stamps, 1¢ to 5¢ inclusive, will be issued by the Post Office Department that will portray Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in an approximate full face pose as illustrated. This set of new design stamps will be an ordinary, long term issue and will gradually replace the current stamps of the same denominations that display portraits of His late Majesty, King George VI. The five denominations of stamps will all be of the same design, differing in colour and denomination only. It is felt that the issuance of these stamps will again reflect the respect and deep devotion of the Canadian people towards their Sovereign. The stamps illustrated are engraved and printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited, Ottawa. The design for the ordinary issue stamps was prepared by this company from a photograph supplied through the courtesy of Karsh, Ottawa.
