* Notes about these prices:
- They are not based on catalogue values but on current dealer and auction listings. The reason for this is that catalogues tend to over-value stamps.
- They are average prices. The actual value of your stamp may be slightly above or below the listed value, depending on the overall condition of your stamp. Use these prices as a guide to determine the approximate value of your stamps.

The third issue of Calgary Olympic Winter Games stamps features bobsleigh and speedskating. Both stamps reflect the speed which is so much a part of winter sports. The bobsleigh competition will take place at Canada Olympic Park on a 1480-meter reinforced-concrete chute covered with artificial ice. From a standing start, the two or four-person teams push the sled forward and leap in. They often hit speeds of 160 kilometers an hour before reaching the finish line. Designer Pierre-Yves Pelletier of Montreal continues with his stylized, diagonal-screen interpretation of sports photographs as seen on previous stamps issued for the Calgary Olympic Winter Games. In this issue, one stamp is based on a two-man bobsleigh built to meet the specifications set for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, while the other shows a female speedskater.
