Most wild animals usually try to avoid being seen by humans, and may be difficult to sight because of nocturnal habits. But with a little practice, interested observers can learn to recognize signs of their presence. The skunk has an unfair reputation - that of its vile spray - which is justly used as a natural defence. You might want to take different route, though,if you see its tracks consisting of close, short steps of 1½" long. Gottschalk + Ash International in Toronto designed these new low-value definitive stamps. The graphic style depicts these small mammals on a split, textured background suggestive of the animals' environment. The colours on the stamps were chosen to be realistic, and yet to allow each stamp to be easily distinguishable.
