* Notes about these prices:
- They are not based on catalogue values but on current dealer and auction listings. The reason for this is that catalogues tend to over-value stamps.
- They are average prices. The actual value of your stamp may be slightly above or below the listed value, depending on the overall condition of your stamp. Use these prices as a guide to determine the approximate value of your stamps.

French Canadian's poet laureate, Louis-Honoré Fréchette, was born 150 years ago, and to honour this anniversary Canada Post Corporation is issuing two se tenant commemorative stamps featuring Fréchette and one of his contemporaries, Archibald Lampman. Best known for his nature poetry, Lampman was a postal employee in Ottawa for most of his working life. Fréchette is famous for his patriotic verse and grandiose style. A souvenir card will be issued featuring Fréchette for the PHILEXFRANCE 89 show. Toronto illustrator René Milot created the stamps honouring Fréchette and Lampman. He painted each poet's portrait and placed it in a background setting reflective of each poet's work.
Designed by René Milot.
