The date of this stamp is hidden in the filigree on the left and right side of the stamp.
Supplementing the King George V Ordinary Issue of 1935, a new series of postage due stamps was issued in that year. The stamps were released on various dates. The design and colour were similar in general style to that of previous Canadian postage due stamp issues. This was the first postage due issue in an upright design. A design from a drawing. Across the top of the design is the word "Canada," below this are the words, "Postage Due." The numeral value is enclosed in a framework; beneath this are the words "Cents" and "A Percevoir."
