The hidden date for this stamp is found on the left side of the stamp above the words "International Conference".
The International Red Cross Conference, the supreme governing body of the organization, meets approximately every four years. In July 1952 the Conference met for the first time in Canada in Toronto, Ontario. The last Conference held in the Western hemisphere met in Washington D.C. in 1912. To commemorate the Canadian meeting a two-colour stamp was issued on 26th July, 1952. The design depicts the Red Cross symbol superimposed on the disc of the sun, whose rays spread out over the earth below. The stamp was printed in two colours: engraved in a light blue and lithographed later in red.
