This stamp was issued to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations with headquarters in Montreal. By its efforts much progress has been made during the past ten years toward the improvement of safety and regularity in international air transportation.
A guiding torch over a white dove flying to the right and upwards, with a maple leaf underneath, representing the Organization Civil Aviation, and Canada, respectively.
