About Stamp

The striking beauty and diversity of the face of Canada have always been a source of inspiration to its artists. To celebrate Canada Day, Canada Post Corporation presents a miniature sheet of twelve paintings, each one an artist's interpretation of a scene from the ten provinces and two territories. The Northwest Territories are represented by René Richard's "Along Great Slave Lake", an oil in the University of Ottawa Permanent Collection. The sheet layout of all twelve stamps was arranged to enhance each individual stamp. Both the layout and the typography are the work of Jean Morin and Pierre Sasseville of Montreal.
