About Stamp

Self-adhesive or pressure-sensitive stamps were first introduced in the early 1960s. Originally perceived as a philatelic gimmick, this concept has evolved into a favourite method of mailing by people in a number of countries. This is Canada's fifth "Quick Sticks" issue. This and all previous issues have shown the Canadian flag over regional backgrounds. This year's 43¢ design shows the flag over a typical Eastern Canadian estuary scene. It was issued on February in packs of 12 stamps only.
