On a delicately lined ground appears a dark rectangular mass of color, with heavy side projections nearly one-third of the length, on which is the bust of Lincoln in an elliptical medallion, surmounted by a panel bearing the words "U.S. postage." Below the medallion, on a waved ribbon with forked ends, are the words "Six cents", in white capitals, separated by a large white Arabic figure "6."
