Issued in panes of 72, printed on the Giori presses in yellow, blue, and red.
This 8-cent stamp honoring the founder and first President of Czechoslovakia is part of the sixth issue in the "Champions of Liberty" Series.
The stamp was printed on the Giori presses in yellow, blue, and red and issued in panes of 72.
The design features a medallion likeness of Masaryk, facing to the left. The basic design is patterned after the original "Champion of Liberty" stamp, with modifications. The wording "1st President Czechoslovakia Patriot T. G. Masaryk" and the dates "1918–1935" are in white face architectural Roman. All other lettering is in modified Gothic.
This stamp was first placed on sale at Washington, D.C., on March 7, 1960.
This series was issued to highlight individuals who are champions of liberty.
