The 8-cent Ignacy Jan Paderewski "Champion of Liberty" stamp commemorates the famed Polish statesman and artist. It measures 0.85 by 0.98 inches, arranged vertically, and was printed on the Giori presses in red, blue, and ocher. Issued in sheets of 72, the stamp displays a medallion portrait of Paderewski based on a photograph by Taylor & Dull of New York and a painting by Tade Styka. This stamp was first placed on sale at Washington, D.C., on October 8, 1960.
