The Department issued a 2-cent stamp portraying Frank Lloyd Wright on June 8, 1966, at Spring Green, Wisconsin, where the architect worked and taught in his last years.
This stamp was designed by Patricia Amarantides, a former student in architecture at Taliesin West, with suggestions from other staff and Mrs. Frank Lloyd Wright. Basis for the portrait is a 1952 photograph by Blackstone-Shelburne of New York; a portion of the Guggenheim Museum in New York appears in the background. The entire issue is phosphor-coated.
