The Department issued the 5-cent Poland's Millennium commemorative on July 30, 1966, at Washington, D.C.
The stamp commemorates the adoption of Christianity and Poland's subsequent entry into the mainstream of Western civilization. It also pays tribute to the traditionally friendly relations between the Polish and American people since the days of the American Revolution. Designed by Edmund D. Lewandowski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
