A special series of postage stamps was issued in commemoration of the tercentenary of the landing of the Pilgrims in December of 1620. These stamps were issued in pursuance of section 4 of Public Resolution No. 42, Sixty-sixth Congress, approved May 13, 1920, providing for a special commemorative issue marking the three hundredth anniversary of the Pilgrims' landing at Provincetown and Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Pilgrim Tercentenary stamps were issued in sheets of 70 and were first placed on sale Dec. 18, 1920, at Provincetown and Plymouth, Mass.
